My therapeutic approach is different. As a licensed professional counselor and a mind body practitioner, I value the strength of addressing the mind and body in healing. I offer individual counseling sessions and workshops to address stress, depression, anger, anxiety, childhood trauma, PTSD and chronic pain.
My therapeutic style is mind body focused and utilizes both active and passive approaches to healing. I find value incorporating techniques from somatic experiencing, polyvagal theory, body talk, emotion focused therapy, gestalt therapy, mindfulness and guided meditations to support healing.
In my late 20's, after trying to process a traumatic life event, I discovered that I needed more than just talk therapy. I could feel the distress in my body which presented as anxiety and depression. My mind was filled with racing thoughts and negative beliefs. I was living in the past and uncertain about the future. I wanted to find a way to release the overwhelming emotions that felt stuck in my body. I sought out a different approach and finally found Body Talk. Through Body Talk I learned that we process emotions in our body like food. Some life events create an overflow of emotions that can't be processed immediately. Our body takes those emotions and stores them, causing physical symptoms. Body Talk allowed me to balance my body and mind. Releasing the stress I stored in my body and processing the emotional pain allowed me to truly heal.
After working with clients for many years as a mind body practitioner, I decided to fully develop my therapeutic skills and become a licensed professional counselor. I've combined my years of experience and training and developed mind body techniques that is helpful for everyone! I look forward to accompanying you on a journey of transformation and healing.
